Full Function Fire Test

It is an annual requirement to conduct “Full Fire Mode” testing on all fire and smoke control systems as installed throughout a class 2-9 building (if a fire relay exits). The as appointed Fire Services contractor, in conjunction with the Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) contractor should conduct compliant testing as per AS1851-2005 sec. 18

Where systems are interfaced, such interface shall be tested annually. Annual tests shall take into account fire protection systems that interface with other fire protection systems, to permit fire protection systems to function as intended at the time of commissioning. A systems interface diagram shall be displayed in the building.

This task only applies to the fire and smoke control features of HVAC systems, including shutdown function for systems that are required not to run in fire mode. Where operation of HVAC systems in fire mode is not specified by Standards or Building codes, this standard does not apply.

Total Essential Services Group provide coordination and a compliant applied process, so as to conduct Full Fire Mode testing, including however not limited to development of testing matrix and remedial works summary.

Where building records are unable to confirm that maintenance has been carried out on each item within the past 5 year period, then the 5 year maintenance routine shall be carried out on that item.

Total Essential Services Group has recently co-ordinated and supervised the full function fire testing process on a number of large commercial, retail & educational buildings, for example Rialto Towers, 90 Collins street, Hilton on the Park, Melbourne Cricket Ground(MCG), Chisholm Institute of Tafe, Deakin University and various Qantas buildings throughout Australia.
